Our beloved member, Tracy Albert, long time BCAC member, leader and friend, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 12, 2017. The family has announced that services will be held Friday, August 18, with visitation starting at 4:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 7:00pm.
BCAC members invite you to visit our Ice House Mall gallery during the month of November when Tracy will be honored as our Artist of the Month. We will be celebrating Tracy’s art and contribution to BCAC and the community by hosting an Open House on Sunday, November 19th, from 1-4PM. View Tracy’s work and meet her family. Refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
Our friend and colleague, Dixie Rogus, passed away from cancer last year. Before her passing, Dixie named BCAC as one of the recipients to which she’d like memorial donations in her honor to be directed. Thanks to her thoughtful wishes and the generosity of the many people who cared about her, $400 was given to BCAC to further our mission.
Our members voted to use these funds toward supporting young artists. This year BCAC will provide two separate awards of $100 each to deserving young artists, repeating the awards the following year. It is the members’ intent to work toward raising funds annually to support art for youth in Dixie’s honor.
