Who we are:

The Barrington Cultural Arts Center (BCAC) is an all volunteer, not-for-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization made up of local artists.  BCAC fosters a community of local artists by planning and promoting the exhibition and sale of members’ artwork and by providing learning opportunities for its members and the community through workshops and demos. We also help to create fun, cultural activities in our village for everyone to enjoy. All visual and functional art media are welcome – sculpting, painting, jewelry design, stained glass, mosaics, cartooning, etc.

3rd Thursday Art Night Out with the Impressionistic Works of Lee Radtke

Starting with Plein Air Painters of Chicago, Lee Radtke’s self-directed art training came mainly from workshops and learning on his own. He strives to create an intuitive impression of what he sees, avoiding too much realism. This allows the viewer’s imagination to run free. His oil pieces have been included in shows across the country, especially those dedicated to representational art.

This is a FREE event; cash bar.

IN MEMORIAM

Our dear friend, colleague and BCAC member, Charles W. “Chuck” Sisson, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 12th, 2019. Among our membership, Chuck will be remembered not only for his beautiful oil and graphite portraits and paintings but also for his contributions of companionship at Open Studio portrait sessions and Plein Air outings; his stories and humor, and; always ‘showing up’ for the hard work of setting the scene for art exhibits. His artistic talents took him well beyond the visual arts to performance art of singing (including performing with his award winning barbershop quartet, ‘Chiefs of Staff’) and acting.

Chuck’s artwork was most recently featured in the December/January 2019 Country-Barrington Style & Substance Magazine.

Chuck will be deeply missed.
